In spite of the presence of several eye care providers in Coimbatore, only 40% of the city’s eye care needs are met. To address this and also to make eye care easily accessible, Aravind opened a surgical centre at RS Puram in Coimbatore city in November 2014. It has facilities to manage cataract, refractive errors and a few speciality conditions.  In the year ending March 2021, Aravind-Coimbatore City Centre handled over 31,569 outpatient visits and performed over 2,520 surgeries.
