Dr. M. Srinivasan, one of the founding members of Aravind Eye Care System joined the organisation as a Medical Officer in Cornea Clinic in 1981. He headed and developed the Cornea Clinic and now is the Director – Emeritus of Aravind Eye Care System. He is the Director of Aravind Integrated Eye Bank Services. He is the lifetime member of All India Ophthalmological Society, Tamil Nadu State Ophthalmic Association; National Society for Preventive of Blindness and Eye Bank Association of India. Throughout Dr. MS’ career, he has conducted several research studies, both clinical and epidemiological including drug trials. He has also conducted several WHO sponsored population based studies. The evidence from these studies has shaped the way diseases of the cornea are being addressed across the developing world.
