Since 1992, the IT division of Aravind Eye Hospital has been supporting the hospital’s clinical protocols. Drawing from its extensive experience in clinical transactions, the division expanded to support clients worldwide. In 2021, it was formally named Auroitech and became a separate entity.

With the objective of leveraging digital solutions to address growing global needs, Auroitech effectively facilitates the delivery of quality, safe, and effective eye care. The company makes eye care services accessible and affordable while fulfilling the custom needs of its clients.

To address the growing volume of patients at Aravind Eye Hospital, the IT unit gradually developed an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system named eyeNotes. This system effectively managed the fast-growing patient volume and the increasing number of Aravind centres across the country. The eyeNotes application has been continually updated to meet evolving needs and adhere to clinical protocols. Currently, this in-house developed EMR system serves over 5,000 users, facilitating over 23 million patient consultations globally, and ensuring high-quality eye care.

In addition to eyeNotes, Auroitech has developed various in-house applications to serve multiple purposes. This includes a cloud-based Integrated Hospital Management System (IHMS) for overall hospital management and Dhrishti, a mobile app for Optical Management System.
