Aravind Eye Care System is among the select few for the Greenberg Prize: End Blindness 2020. The award was announced in 2012 to recognise the work of the scientific and medical communities who have pioneered breath-taking advances in the fight to end blindness, between then and 2020. Prize recipients were honoured in two categories: Outstanding Achievement Prize and Visionary Prize.  Aravind’s Chairman, Dr. R.D. Ravindran was honoured in the Outstanding Achievement category in recognition of his profound contribution toward treating and curing blindness.The award was given at a virtual ceremony on December 14, 2020.

Kerala Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons honoured Dr. P. Namperumalsamy with the Dr. T.K. Alexander Memorial Oration Award. Dr. Namperumalsamy delivered the oration titled, Institution Building: Academic and professional Excellence.
