NABH Gap Assessment Visits

As part of Leap NABH collaborative, LAICO teams visited various hospitals to do a gap analysis and suggest recommendations for improving compliance with NABH standards. B. Ganesh Babu, Senior Manager, Operations, Aravind Eye Care System, and M. Vikky Kumar, Aravind-Tirunelveli visited Netaji Eye Hospital in Purulia. Syed Ali, Senior Faculty, LAICO, and Mohammed Ghouse, Manager, Aravind-Tuticorin visited Mahatma Gandhi Eye Hospital and Research Institute, Rasgovindpur, Odisha from March 20 to 24.  In continuation of the visit, the team conducted an in-person learning session at LAICO for the five hospitals from April 12 to 14, 2023.

ACCESS Project Wrap-Up Meeting

LAICO, March 20-25

Aravind has been working with five partners from Sub-Saharan Africa since 2012 through the ACCESS Initiative (African Centres of Excellence in Cataract Services). This project was supported by the Hilton Foundation through a two-time grant that concludes in May 2023. The partners are from Kenya, Zambia, Ethiopia, and Nigeria. The final meeting of the ACCESS Initiative was held at LAICO from March 20 to 25, 2023. The team from Nigeria joined the meeting via Zoom. A senior leadership team from the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Ghana, and representatives from HCP Cure Blindness also joined the team.
