Aravind in the past few years have been consciously implementing steps to mitigate the environmental impact of its activities. As a recognition for this, the organisation was chosen as climate champion by Global Green and Healthy Hospitals network.

Aravind’s community outreach initiatives take eye care to the doorsteps of the rural communities. One of the reasons for the success of its camps is the whole-hearted commitment of the community sponsors toward the smooth conduct of these camps. Aravind centres at Coimbatore and Pondicherry organised events to honour these sponsors for their unstinting support.
